Protests erupted across the nation as body camera footage revealed the brutal killing of Tyre Nichols by Memphis police.

Nichols, a 29-year-old Black motorist and father of a 4-year-old, was pulled over on January 7th for alleged reckless driving.

Video footage shows that after attempting to flee, he was brutally beaten by police. He passed away in the hospital three days later.

Nichols, originally from Sacramento, California, was known for his love of skateboarding and nature photography.

He had recently started a job with FedEx in Memphis and had been with the company for about nine months before his tragic death.

"He was one of those people who made everyone around them happy," said Nichols' step-grandmother Lucille Washington at a memorial service.

The police body cam video shows a violent arrest and has sparked nationwide outrage, with calls for justice and an end to police brutality.

The death of Tyre Nichols serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice for Black Americans.
