Tesla is recalling 1.1 million of its vehicles due to an automatic window safety issue that may cause a person's fingers to be pinched.

Tesla would use over-the-air software updates to fix certain issues with the automatic window reversal system.

If a window does not have the automatic reversing system, it can cause an increased risk of injury by pinching someone before retracting.

Tesla is recalling some of their cars from 2017 to 2022.

Updates on the issue will be handled through an app, not by visiting a shop or a dealer.

Tesla notified owners of the problem with production testing last month. Tesla will send a letter to owners beginning on Nov. 15.

Tesla has just recently updated their software for remotely deploying power windows for new car models.

The company said they were not aware of customers reporting crashes, injuries, or deaths as a result of the recall.
