Oakland hotel parking lot shooting leaves man in critical condition

OAKLAND – A man was in critical condition at a hospital Tuesday after he was shot in the parking lot behind a hotel, police said.

The shooting took place around 9:45 pm on Monday in the 100 block of Hegenberger Road.

According to police, a man was sitting in his van in the parking lot, when another car pulled up. Police said a man got out of the car, walked up to the man and shot him in the chest.

An ambulance took the man to a hospital.

Police investigate the motivation of the crime and identify the suspect.
