Three people were killed and at least four wounded in a shooting in Los Angeles, the city’s fire department said on Saturday, the fourth mass shooting in California in a week.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for help at 2:35 am on a residential street northwest of downtown, a spokesman said.
Rescuers found three dead and two injured, who were taken to a hospital, the fire department said. Two others were taken to a hospital, the spokesman said.
CNN affiliate KCAL said the shooting took place on the outskirts of Beverly Hills in the community of Beverly Crest. Three victims were shot inside a car and another four while outside a house.
Police said the first call was about an “attack with a deadly weapon,” the station reported.
The four people hospitalized are in critical condition, the station said.
This was the third shooting in California since Jan. 21, when a gunman entered a dance studio in Monterey Park, in greater Los Angeles, and killed 11 people.
Seven people were killed on Monday at farms in Half Moon Bay in northern California.
Hours later, five people were shot in Oakland. An 18-year-old man died.
