Jay Leno suffers broken bones in motorcycle accident months after garage fire: report

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Jay Leno is recovering from broken bones suffered during a motorcycle accident just two months after he was injured in a fire in his Los Angeles garage.

The comedian told the Las Vegas Review Magazine that the fire, which left him severely burned on his upper body and part of his face, was only the first accident.

“That was the first accident. OKAY? Then last week, they threw me off the motorcycle,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review Magazine Thursday. “So I have a broken clavicle. I have two broken ribs. I have two broken kneecaps.

The Review-Journal said the motorcycle mishap happened Jan. 17 while Leno was testing a 1940s-era bike. It said he was pulled from the bike by a cable stretched out in the parking lot.

“So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. He just he threw my clothes and boom he threw me off the bike,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review Magazine. “The bike kept going, and you know how that works.”

Leno said he did not make the accident public due to coverage of the fire last November.

“You know, after you get burned, you get that one for free,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review Magazine. “After that, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing planes. You just want to keep your head down (laughs).”

Despite burns and broken bones, Leno prepares to return to the Las Vegas Strip in March.
