At least four people died after separate shootings in Half Moon Bay, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
Three victims were found at a location near San Mateo Road (Highway 92). A fourth victim was found at a nearby location, the source said.
A suspect has been arrested, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
“There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time,” the sheriff’s office said in a tweet just before 5 p.m.
The suspect was identified as 67-year-old Zhao Chunli.
The victims are Chinese agricultural workers, said Debbie Ruddock, councilor for Half Moon Bay.
Authorities urged the public to avoid Highway 92 between Highway 1 and Highway 35.
