Winter storm, heavy snow potential in Omaha area Wednesday through Thursday

NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS ALSO. BUT THINGS ARE QUIET RIGHT NOW IN OMAHA. BUT THINGS WILL INCREASE AS WE GO LATER THIS MORNING. THUS IN THE QUARTER NORTH OF I-80, A WINTER STORM WARN TODAY EARLY THURSDAY. THIS IS THE MOST EXPECTED AREA. AND THEN WINTER WEATHER NOTICE DOWN. LESS SNOW BUT MORE ICE POTENTIAL STARTS AT 6 AM BUT WE WILL PROBABLY SEE PRECIPITATION BEGINNING HERE ON THE SUBWAY. WAIT UNTIL AFTER 9:00 AM AS IT APPROACHES TEN AND 11:00 AM. HERE WE GO. LET’S GO THROUGH THE STORM PREDICTOR. THIS MORNING AS WE GO THROUGH SEVEN, EIGHT, 9:00. MORE ICE POTENTIAL, MIXED RAINFALL CLOSER TO KANSAS BORDER BEATRICE TOWARDS NEBRASKA CITY LIGHT SNOW FROM NORTH FORK, EAST COLUMBIA AT DEC 11:00. EXPECTING A LIGHT SNOW HERE ON THE OMAHA SUBWAY. MORE FREEZING TO THE SOUTH AND POSSIBLY JUST OLD RAIN IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI AS WE HEAD IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON, WAITING FOR THE TRANSITION TO ALL SNOW HERE IN OMAHA. MORE THAN A MIX AFTER OUR SOUTH. AND THEN, BY THREE, 4:00 AM, WAITING FOR THE HEAVY SNOW TO START ON THE OMAHA SUBWAY AND THIS WILL PROBABLY GO ON FOR SEVERAL HOURS. SO FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM, THAT WINDOW IS LIKELY WHEN WE WILL SEE THE MOST OF OUR SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AND THE WORST TRAVELING CONDITIONS HERE IN THE CITY WHERE WE MAY SEE SNOW RATES ABOVE ONE INCH PER HOUR. POSSIBLE WHITE CONDITIONS AND I CANNOT RULE OUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A THUNDERING NOISE, WHICH WOULD STILL MAKE THAT NAVIGATION UP, EVEN MORE AS WE HAD DURING THE NIGHT. WE WILL SEE THIS HEAVY SNOW CHANGE TO LIGHT SNOW AND THEN BEGIN TO MOVE. WE’RE GOING ON THURSDAY MORNING. SO HERE IS MY 6 TO 10 INCH POSSIBLE SNOW FORECAST ON THE OMAHA SUBWAY TO LINCOLN AND NORTH, LARGER AMOUNTS BETWEEN COLUMBUS AND NORFOLK. THEN SOUTH, IT’S GOING TO BE AN APPEARING DROP FROM OMAHA, EVEN DOWN TOWARDS NEBRASKA CITY. IT MAY ONLY BE A COUPLE OF INCHES. THIS IS WHERE WE WILL PROBABLY GET THE MOST MIXED. BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR A LITTLE MORE ICE AS WE GO FORWARD TODAY. THINGS ARE QUIET IN OMAHA RIGHT NOW, BUT YOU SEE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW FROM CARNEY ALL THE WAY WEST. DO YOU REMEMBER LEXINGTON TO WYOMING BORDER CLOSED ON I-80 NOW. BUT YOU CAN START TO SEE MORE OF THAT MOISTURE MOVING NORTH, MORE OF A MIXTURE CLOSER TO THE KANSAS BORDER. RIGHT NOW. SO THINGS MAY BEGIN TO GET A LITTLE BIT IN THE FAIRBURY AREA AND BEATRICE’S DIRECTION. THEN AGAIN, ESPECIALLY IN THE NEXT HOURS SOUTH. MORE THAN ONE THREAT OF 18. THAT’S A LOOK AT HIGHWAY 370 AND 72 NOW. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’VE SEEN SOME OF BRIAN ON THE ROADS, BUT THINGS ARE QUIET FOR THE MORNING DRIVE NOW. 29 DEGREES WITH THE BREEZE FEELS 21. BUT TEMPERATURES ALMOST EVERYWHERE BELOW THE FREEZING MARK. THEREFORE WE WILL BE WATCHING THIS VERY CLOSE. THEN, AGAIN, LET’S GO THROUGH THE TIMELINE OF THE IMPACTS, FROM 10 AM TO 11 AM, WHICH LIGHT AND SNOW MIX. SO IF YOU HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE BY SUBWAY TODAY, DO IT BEFORE 9PM. SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IMPACTS AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH HEAVY, DAMP SNOW AND THEN FINISHING EARLY THURSDAY MORNING, WAITING FOR THOSE SNOW COVERED DAYS ON THE ROADS AND STILL SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS IN THE MORNING THURSDAY.
