- Donald Trump was ousted in October 2022 in a defamation case filed by E. Jean Carroll.
- During the deposition, Trump was combative and vague in his responses to opposing counsel.
- Trump bragged about his social media platform, threatened the lawyer and insulted Joe Biden.
Former President Donald Trump has taken moments to brag about his own accomplishments, complain about the country’s “broken” justice system and insult President Joe Biden during testimony last year.
On Oct. 19, Trump was ousted in a defamation case filed by E. Jean Carroll, a former columnist for Elle magazine who also accused the former president of sexual assault in a separate lawsuit.
An excerpt from Carroll and Trump’s testimonies was opened on Friday.
The records show a combative Trump true to form: He repeatedly insulted Carroll — and at one point mischaracterized her words, claiming she said “rape was sexy” — and gave incoherent responses to opposing attorney Roberta Kaplan.
Kaplan declined to comment for this story.
