The fourth and final season of the show will not air on TNT despite the completion of production.

Tomorrow Studios, which produces the post-apocalyptic drama, will seek another home for the show, CEO and partner Marty Adelstein and president/partner Becky Clements said in a statement of their own. The studio has bought back the rights to the entire series in order to purchase the entire library along with the fourth season from potential buyers.

“We love snow drill and I think season four rounds out an incredibly talented story that will entertain viewers as they explore the issues of climate change and class warfare,” said Adelstein and Clements. “We are so passionate about this series that we have acquired the rights to control the franchise. We look forward to finding the perfect partner shortly and finishing off a great journey with the final season.”

TNT announced in June 2022 that the fourth season of snow drill — based on the 2013 Bong Joon-ho film, itself derived from a French graphic novel about a frozen Earth whose surviving inhabitants circumnavigate the globe on a perpetually moving train — would be the last. It would have been the last homegrown drama series to air on TNT, as WBD dropped scripted programming on the channel and half-brothers TBS and TruTV.
