we’re too far to see matthew reeves‘second installment of his bat Man trilogy, but the director is already thinking about how to avoid a problem that has plagued the Bat sequel movies for years: they always seem to focus on the villains instead of Batman himself.

Reeves identified the problem (without giving a name) during an interview with collider:: “What I really feel is that I also believe that Rob [Pattinson] it’s so special on paper. My goal has always been to make these point-of-view stories that allow the character to always be the emotional center of the story. Because a lot of times what happens is, after you do the first one, all of a sudden other characters from Rogues Gallery come in, and they take over, and then Batman takes a backseat character-wise or emotionally.”

It sounds kind of silly if you think of it like “the batman The sequel will focus on Batman,” but Reeves is right. When you remember the Christopher Nolan sequels bat Man trilogy, you remember the villains Joker and Bane much more than the role Batman plays in the movies. At the very least, they propelled the film forward rather than the titular hero, unlike Batman Begins Y the batmanwhich featured Bruce Wayne honing his skills before returning to Gotham City and actively pursuing a serial killer, respectively.

There’s no reason to think Reeves can’t pull this off; he directed the two sequels of rise of the planet of the apeswhich continued to focus on Cesar and his journey and both were quite excellent.
