Jay Leno released from hospital with burns

Jay Leno was discharged from the hospital after suffering burns in a gasoline fire about nine days ago.

The 72-year-old former “Tonight Show” host was discharged from the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles on Monday, the center said in a statement, sharing photos of the comedian with members of his care team.

“Comedian Jay Leno was released from the Grossman Burn Center today,” the hospital said in a press release. “Jay is receiving follow-up care at the Grossmann Outpatient Burn Clinic after sustaining burns to his face, chest and hands in a fire in his home’s garage.”

Reno, an avid car collector, was working under the car when he was burned. He underwent two surgeries to treat his injuries, his doctor, Dr. Peter Grossman, previously announced.

“I am pleased with Jay’s progress and optimistic that he will make a full recovery.

“Jay wants to tell everyone how grateful he is for the care he received and thank you for all the good luck,” the hospital added in a statement. I am looking forward to spending time with my friends and I hope everyone has a great holiday.”
